Drought Advisory Affects the Town of Wrentham - Updated April 2017

This is an important message from the Town of Wrentham:

Due to the abundant spring rains the Drought Management Task Force has downgraded our drought status from a Watch to an Advisory. Additionally, MassDEP has certified Wrentham’s 2016 residential gallons per capita day (RGPD) at 59 RGPD. Previously, we were in violation of our Water Withdrawal Permit conditions of a maximum RGPD of 65. This successful change is a direct result of our Town’s conservation efforts. Due to both of these conditions, the Town of Wrentham will now be at a Stage II Water Ban. This stage is effective annually from May 1 through September 30. All non-essential outdoor water use is restricted daily between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Permissive uses are allowed.

Permissive uses allowed outside the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. are:

  • Irrigation during the months of May or September to establish a new lawn or new plantings; irrigation of public parks and recreational fields by means of automatic sprinklers; watering of lawns, gardens, flowers and ornamental plants by means of a handheld hose; and irrigation using stored storm-water runoff.

These restrictions are mandatory for all residents of the Town of Wrentham; including residents on private wells.
