Lateral Transfer for Police Officer
The Wrentham Police Department is currently seeking applicants for Police Officer, Lateral Transfers. Applicant must have Civil Service status under Chapter 31 and be eligible to transfer. Status as a Permanent Intermittent may be considered. In addition, applicant must have successfully completed a MPTC approved full-time police academy, possess an active Class-A LTC and M/V Massachusetts Drivers License.
The Wrentham Police is seeking a motivated, dependable, and community oriented police officer. The applicant must possess problem solving ability, believe in a community policing model, and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Located mid way between Boston and Providence, Wrentham is approximately 23 sq. miles with a population of more than 11, 000. Wrentham is home of the Wrentham Premium Village Outlet Mall which full time officers regularly work paid details for purposes of traffic enforcement and crime prevention.
The Wrentham Police Department offers a College Education Incentive Program similar to the Quinn Bill M.G.L. Chapter 41 Section 108L. This benefits all new hires that, at the time of their hire, are approved by the State to receive such benefits under Chapter 41 Section 108L.
There are three lakes in Wrentham including Lake Pearl which is a 212 acre body of water which is patrolled by officers in the Wrentham Police Department's 17' Boston Whaler Police Boat.
During the summer, full time officers patrol the Wrentham State Forest, covering 1,027 acres and 23 miles of trails, utilizing state of the art police mountain bikes and ATV patrol.
Special assignments include; Motorcycle Patrol, School Resource Officer, Elder Affairs Officer, Community Relations Officer, Detective/Patrolman and Dare Officers.

Information Technology Manager
The Town of Wrentham is accepting applications for the position of Information Technology Manager. Responsibilities include serving as the primary functional and technical resource for communication services and IT support for all town departments. The IT Manager will direct and coordinate information and communication services for the town. This includes interdepartmental and town-to-residents information and communication services. The individual manages the content, tools, technology and resources to ensure all departments, boards, committees and residents have access to information sharing capabilities.
The IT Manager will manage and control IT assets and infrastructure for all non-school departments; coordinate with Wrentham Public Schools to maintain consistency of operations and assets and to provide economies of scale for maintenance and procurement. Additionally, the IT Manager will direct the day to day support provided by department resources, to include a system administrator/technician, of non-school IT assets and infrastructure.
Technical responsibilities include managing servers, networks, financial (SoftRight), assessment (CAMA), People GIS, public works (PubWorks), Public Safety (CAD and PAMET), telephone, VOIP and other systems. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field and 3 to 5 years experience. Must have strong communication skills and be able to work cooperatively with all town departments. Full time position with benefits; salary dependent on qualifications.
