Part-Time Administrative Assistant - Conservation

The Town of Wrentham is seeking a qualified candidate to assist the Planning and Land Use Department with daily office duties in support of the Conservation Commission. Position includes responding to inquiries regarding procedures, regulations or guidelines as well as support for Community Preservation Committee and Open Space Committees.

Duties include but are not limited to: Respond to inquiries in person, by phone and email. Process requests and application. Prepare and advertise public hearings; Prepare permits; Maintain filing system and databases; Post meetings, prepare agendas and take meeting minutes; Process Notices of Intent, Certificates of Compliance, and ANRADs. Support Open Space Committee and Community Preservation Committee. Availability to attend evening required. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience: High School diploma and two years of office experience; Associates degree preferred. Advanced computer and organizational skills. Strong communication skills both interpersonal and in writing. Self-starter and ability to function well with minimal supervision. Familiarity with bookkeeping, attention to detail and ability to adhere to legal deadlines and ability to manage multiple tasks. Prior experience with Conservation and/or DEP would be extremely helpful.

Salary: Part-time, non-benefit, union position. 19 hours per week. Starting salary $20.68 per hour.

Director of Facilities and Capital Planning

The Town of Wrentham is seeking a Director of Facilities and Capital Planning. Reporting to and appointed by the Town Administrator, with the Superintendent of Schools having direct access to the Director. The Director provides direction and management under the Town/School Facilities Department. Responsible for the town-wide direction, coordination, integration and implementation of facilities planning, renovation, construction, energy conservation, security, maintenance, and overall management of the buildings and capital planning.

Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for the administration of a comprehensive maintenance program including overall maintenance, planning and scheduling of both long- and short-range maintenance projects related to the specific needs of Town properties as they are identified; coordination of capital projects with the School Facilities Manager and building supervisors; upkeep and inventory of all relevant information related to each Town property including site survey documents, construction documents, equipment lists, parts lists, routine and preventive maintenance schedules, study and planning documentation, building assessment documentation, O&M manuals, etc. Supervise a team consisting of a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, part-time custodial and administrative assistant. Coordination with School Facilities Manager and School leadership. Duties include but are not limited to scheduling, training and assigning daily tasks. Develops and monitors the annual facilities operating and capital budgets. Responsible for the creation and updating of the Capital Improvement Plan. Serve as a member or representative to various committees as directed.

Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Facilities Management; Construction Management; Architecture; or related field (Master’s preferred) and/or a combination of education and work experience will be strongly considered. Extensive knowledge of building construction and maintenance.

Licenses or Certifications: Commonwealth of Massachusetts License in one or more of the major trades (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Construction, etc.) and MCPPO designation is desirable. Courses in rules and regulations related to various governing agencies (i.e. NFPA, OSHA, DEP, Building Codes, Handicapped Accessibility, Etc.) is desirable.

Additional Requirements: Valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator’s license; Ability to successfully pass Wrentham Public Schools and Town of Wrentham background checks.

Salary: Full-time, Benefit eligible, exempt position. Salary range: $90,000 - $100,000.

Lifeguard/Swim Instructor

We are looking to hire lifeguards at Sweatt Beach for summer! Work with approximately 10-12 lifeguards/instructors to provide beach supervision and swim lesson instruction.

Report To:  Recreation Director and Head Lifeguard

Hours: The beach hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day of the week (weather permitting). Works schedules will vary.


  • Current Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certification required. WSI certification preferred.
  • At least 16 years of age
  • Good health and physical stamina.
  • Emotionally mature, responsible, and punctual.
  • Team player and willing to work hard.
  • Ability to take direction from Beach Directors.
