The Town of Wrentham seeks an experienced individual to lead its full service professional Fire and EMS (ALS) Department. Fire Chief reports to the Town Administrator and directs the operations of a Civil Service department composed of a Deputy Chief, 5 Captains, 16 Firefighters, and 8 on-call Firefighters. The current Interim Fire Chief will not be a candidate.
Wrentham is a high growth community of 11,500 plus residents, located south of Boston, MA and north of Providence, RI. Wrentham has 5 major highways, traffic overflow from nearby Gillette Stadium, and is home to the international destination Wrentham Village Premium Outlet Mall that attracts 13M annual visitors.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science, Public or Business Administration or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. An EFO or CFO Certificate is desirable. A minimum of 10 years of Fire/EMS management experience is required. Professional experience in the greater Massachusetts area strongly preferred. Experience in a union environment is required. Demonstrated record of team building, dealing with growth planning, management, finance and human resources related to fire and emergency medical service. The applicant must be familiar with state fire and building codes.
Required licenses and certifications are as follows: Comm. of Mass. Certified EMT-Basic (EMT-Paramedic preferred) and a valid Comm. of Mass. Drivers License within one year are required. Total compensation negotiable within existing range: $120,000 to $135,000, commensurate with knowledge, skills and experience, with an excellent benefit package. The successful candidate is required to reside within a reasonable distance as determined by the appointing authority, within 12 months from date of hire.

Payroll Specialist - Town Accountant's Office
The Payroll Specialist is a full-time (35 hours/week) appointed position in the Accounting Department performing financial and administrative duties under the direction of the Town Accountant/Finance Director. The position requires an independent worker to process payrolls and other related duties. Additional duties include assisting with the management of town budgets, preparation of financial reports and audits. Starting salary is $ 839.57 per week. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in related field preferred, and a minimum of three years of bookkeeping or payroll experience; municipal experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; skill and accuracy working with numbers and detail; strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly EXCEL.
